Senior Pastor

Dr. Kevin Milburn

Dr Kevin Milburn has been the Senior Pastor at Second Baptist Greenville since October of 2015. Originally from Danville, KY, he previously served the Senior Pastor of Union Baptist Church in Union, KY. Kevin has been in the ministry since 1996, also serving in associate and youth pastor roles. He has served on the Kentucky Baptist Convention Mission Board, led six mission trips to Haiti, and has conducted a field study in Israel and Greece. In 2014 he was elected Vice-President of our Kentucky Baptist Convention.

Kevin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Studies from Boyce College in Louisville, KY, a Master of Divinity degree in Theology from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY, and a Doctor of Ministry degree in Discipleship/Assimilation from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary in Lynchburg, VA. Kevin has been married to his best friend Jessica since 2000 and they have four children, Madeline (14), Noah (11), Connor (7) and Andrew (5). In his spare time, Kevin enjoys spending time with his family, watching and playing basketball, and savoring fine cheesecake.

Associate Pastor

Bob Thurman

Bro. Bob was raised in Southeast Missouri and was called by God into the ministry as a young adult and licensed into ministry by his home church on the same day his father was ordained a deacon.  He is married to Karen who grew up in St. Louis, MO.  They were married in 1982 and have two grown sons.  Bro. Bob began his ministry in 1995 as Minister of Education and Youth, but has served in several roles as the church has grown through the years.

He enjoys time with family and friends, fishing, golf, and working in the yard and garden.

Worship and Youth Pastor

Brian Schindler

Brian and Melissa were called to 2nd Baptist in January of 2001 after he completed his Master's at Southern Seminary.  He was raised in the mountains of Pikeville, KY, and was even blessed to serve at First Baptist of Pikeville as an interim music minister of youth for a short time.  He has been married to Melissa Schindler since 2000 and has two children. Caroline is 14, and Michael is 12.  Brian enjoys running, board games, watching nerdy comic book movies, and listening to podcasts.


Each week Brian strives to help our congregation commune with God. He longs to see members use their gifts in worship ministries as God’s church brings glory to her glorious Bridegroom.

Brian also leads our youth ministry towared a purpose-driven model where students grow in worship, fellowship, discipleship, evangelism, and ministry.

Minister of Children & Recreation David Bivins

David has served as the Minister of Children & Recreation at Second Baptist since January of 2017.  His wife, Audrey have two wonderful kids, Lydia and Nathaniel.  A native of Greenville, KY, he has served in Augusta, GA and Benton, KY.  David studied Music Education and Accounting at Murray State University, where he met his wife, Audrey.  

David loves working with children, the adult volunteers who lead them and parents who love them unconditionally.  He oversees kids through 5th grade and continues to expand the ministry outside our church walls with programs like Upward Basketball & Cheerleading, Vacation Bible School, Launch Back-to-School, and Children's Choir.  

In his spare time, David enjoys cycling, singing, and home improvement projects.  He enjoys volunteering at a local public elementary school as a mentor once a week.

Church Secretary

Kelly Dukes

Kelly was born on April 13, 1979 in Elizabethtown, KY and grew up in Clarkson, KY.  She was married to Will Dukes in June 2011.  They have a son named Tristan, born in May 2015.  Will is a police officer and they have a farm with horses, cows, and pigs.  Kelly started attending Second Baptist Church in 2011 and was baptized here in 2012.  Kelly has worked as Church Secretary since June of 2014.

Financial Secretary & Organist

Cindy Vincent

Cindy Vincent has served as organist since 1996.  She is married to Danny Vincent and have been members at Second Baptist Church for 29 years.

On their first date, they talked about the music ministry at Second.  During that time, they were both serving as organists at two smaller local churches.  They believe it was God's plan to bring them together, moving them to Second Baptist to actively serve in the church they feel is their home.  


Ozzie Sullivan

Ozzie was born March 10, 1945 in Owensboro, KY and is married to Pat in May 1968.  They have 3 children, one of which died June 23, 2002.  He has 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.  Ozzie was licensed to preach by Greenville First Baptist Church in 1967 and ordained to gospel ministry by Zion Brick Baptist Church, Slaughters, KY in 1970.  Ozzie was Pastor at Zion Brick 1970-1975.  He joined Second Baptist May 1986 and is a Second Baptist Sunday School Teacher at Maple Manor and Diversicare Nursing Homes.  For 28 years, Ozzie has led the Second Baptist Church Toys for Hyden Christmas ministry, taking Christmas presents to children in poverty stricken Hyden, KY.


Steve Sullivan

Steve was born July 12, 1951 and was baptized at Second Baptist Church on March 11, 1979.  In April 1980, he was hired by the church and have remained a faithful employee for 37 years.  Steve lost his loving wife, Shirley, on February 19, 2013.  Steve enjoys singing in the choir.


Tony Jones

Tony has served as Painist/Sanctuary Choir Accompanist since 1989.  Tony is married to Kim Jones who serves as Nursery Coordinator and came to Second Baptist in July 1988.  He came on staff in 1989 after serving as interim.  Tony has served on Benevolence Committee, Music Committee, Minister of Music Search Chairman, Children's Choirs and Drama Team.

Tony is a 37 year employee of Kentucky Utilities Company currently supervising the office staff in 5 offices in Western Kentucky and auditing the business offices throughout the state of Kentucky and Virginia.  He also serves as Staff Cosmetologist & Restorative Artist at Gary's Funeral Home.  He and his wife operate Ashlynn Dawson Clothier & Cottontail Treasures in Greenville.  They are avid collectors and proudly display their collections throughout their home on Hwy 171.  They have two sons, Brian and Aaron (Amanda) and two grandchildren.  Tony's parents and their children and grandchildren reside outside of Greenville on the family farm, Wild Turkey Run, with their grandchildren being the 7th generation to live on the property originally owned by his great-great-grandparents.

Pre-Kindergarten Director

Karen Thurman

Karen was born February 17, 1960 in St. Louis, MO.  Karen and Bro. Bob, our Associate Pastor, were married in August 1982.  They have two adult children, Tyler and Stephen.  Karen grew up and was baptized at Kirkwood Baptist Church in St. Louis in 1971.  Karen was a member there until she and Bob married when they moved to Louisville, KY.  She has since been a member of churches in Louisville, KY, Knoxville, TN, and Columbia, MO before joining Second Baptist Church in 1995.  She has worked in management in several retail stores.  Karen has also worked for General Electric while Bob was in seminary.  Karen began serving as the Director of the Pre-Kindergarten Program at Second Baptist in 2000.

Nursery Coordinator

Kim Jones

Kim has served Second Baptist Church as Nursery Coordinator for 22 years.  She schedules volunteers and Nursery staff for all church services and events for children birth through 3 years old.  She also supervises two nursery rooms in the preschool wing.  She works directly with the children entrusted in her care.

She and her husband Tony (Church Pianist) and her two sons came to Second Baptist in 1988.  She worked with children's choir for 7 years prior to taking the responsibility of Nursery Coordinator.  She is a 35 year employee of Muhlenberg Community Hospital working in Outpatient Services and serves on the employee Credit Union Board.  She and her husband have two small business ventures, Ashlynn Dawson Clothiers, selling infant and children's clothing, and Cottontail Treasures, marketing home furnishings, antique and collectibles, both located at "My Sister's Stuff" in Greenville.
